MESSAGE OF THE DAY

"In this temple of God, in this the divine dwelling place, God
alone rejoices with the soul in the deepest silence. There is no
reason for the intellect to stir or seek anything, for the Lord who
created it wishes to give it repose here."
- Teresa of Avila -

(Be still, and let God be God within you.)

Praying the Daily Gospels
- by Philip St. Romain:

- Luke 21: 20-28 (The Second Coming)

The Church has always believed that her risen Lord would return.
Just how, when, and where this will occur we do not know, despite
the insistence of Fundamentalist exegetes to the contrary. Jesus'
teachings concerning his return come to us couched in the words of
apocalyptic literature, which is highly symbolic and difficult to
understand. It is enough for us to believe that history will not
terminate in some catastrophic dead end; Christ shall one day be
all in all."

- What does the Second Coming mean to you?

- Do you believe you will be faced with the prospect of living
through personal and/or national catastrophe before you die? If so,
how do you propose to remain hopeful when those times come?

THE IMITATION OF CHRIST
- by Thomas a Kempis -

It is strange that you do not commit yourself to Me with your
whole
heart, together with all that you can desire or possess. Why are
you
consumed with foolish sorrow? Why are you wearied with unnecessary
care? Be resigned to My will and you will suffer no loss.
