MESSAGE OF THE DAY

If you have been mistreated, cheated or deceived and if your heart
has been right all along, be assured that God knows this. God will
eventually vindicate you, but in the meantime you should be
confidently aware that God knows the truth concerning what has
happened to you. He knows if your heart has been right.
- Theodore Epp

(Better to be at peace before God than to be justified before human
beings.)

SCRIPTURE READINGS
http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/

Rom 1:1-7; Ps 98:1bcde, 2-3ab, 3cd-4; Lk 11:29-32

R. (2a) The Lord has made known his salvation.

Sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for him,
his holy arm.

The LORD has made his salvation known:
in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness
toward the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation by our God.
Sing joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;
break into song; sing praise.

- Luke 11: 29-32 (Seekers of grace)

Many people live in countries where the freedom to worship is
diminished or prohibited by oppressive governments. The least we
who live in free countries can do is to take advantage of the many
opportunities for growth present in our society. Jesus commended
the Queen of Sheba and the Ninevites for making the most of their
opportunities to grow in grace; he affirms us if we do likewise.

- When was the last time you made a retreat or day of recollection?
Look into the possibility of scheduling one soon.

- What are some signs of God's presence that you have observed
recently? Thank God for these reassurances of his love for you.

238. Christ's loved ones are to be one in Him who is one of the
divine persons, just as the divine persons are one.

LECTIO DIVINA METHOD (Benedictine Approach)

1. Relax. Settle in. Be aware that God is here, now, loving you.
2. Read a short passage of Scripture as though God were speaking
directly to you in it.
3. Choose a phrase from the passage that strikes you and repeat it
slowly, prayerfully, non-analytically.
4. When your heart is full, express to God the needs and sentiments
awakened by your meditation. When you're done, read another passage
and repeat steps 3 and 4.
5. If, at any time, you feel moved to simply be present to God in
loving silence, put the Scripture aside and rest in God.
