ANNUAL APPEAL
If you've been a subscriber to Daily Spiritual Seed for sometime,
you've probably noted that we really do try to make use of various
online resources to generate income. For example:
- the Christian Spirituality Bookstore: http://shalomplace.com/books
- listing of spiritual directors:
http://shalomplace.com/direction/directors.html
- sale of eBooks and audios: http://shalomplace.com/psrbks.html
- the Commerce Corner listings in the weekend edition newsletter
- Internet retreats and workshops: http://shalomplace.com/inetmin
The net result is a trickle of income, but nowhere near enough to
pay for my time and the resources necessary to maintain our
Internet ministry. Still, we believe it is important to try to
generate as much income as possible through ministry services and
resources. As with virtually all ministries everywhere, however,
we must also depend upon direct donations to make ends meet.
Your support for the Internet ministry at Heartland Center for
Spirituality makes it possible for me to have the time and
resources to do this work. Donations are tax-deductible and help
to defray our expenses.
see http://shalomplace.com/seed/donations.html for links to donate
online or voluntary subscription payments.
For checks or money orders, send to: Internet Ministry. Heartland
Center for Spirituality. 3600 Broadway. Great Bend, KS 67530.
Thanks!

MESSAGE OF THE DAY
"If one reaches the point where understanding fails, this is not a
tragedy. It is simply a reminder to stop thinking and start
looking. Perhaps there is nothing to figure out after all; perhaps
we only need to wake up."
- Thomas Merton -
(In fact, that is usually the case.)

SCRIPTURE READINGS
http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/
Rv 3:1-6, 14-22; Ps 15:2-3a, 3bc-4ab, 5; Lk 19:1-10
R. (Rev. 3: 21) I will seat the victor beside me on my throne.
He who walks blamelessly and does justice;
who thinks the truth in his heart
and slanders not with his tongue.
Who harms not his fellow man,
nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor;
By whom the reprobate is despised,
while he honors those who fear the LORD.
Who lends not his money at usury
and accepts no bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things
shall never be disturbed.

GOSPEL MEDITATION

The Lord Jesus is always ready to make his home with each one of

your life?
"Lord Jesus, come and stay with me. Fill my life with your peace,
my home with your presence, and my heart with your praise. Help me
to show kindness, mercy, and goodness to all, even to those who
cause me ill-will or harm."

NOTES FROM A CLASSICAL WORK
"Sayings of Light and Love," by St. John of the Cross (jottings
from his notebooks)
87. Crucified inwardly and outwardly with Christ, you will live in
this life with fullness and satisfaction of soul, and possess your
