MESSAGE OF THE DAY

One of the marks of spiritual maturity is the quiet confidence that
God is in control - without the need to understand why He does what
He does.

SCRIPTURE READINGS
http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/

Mi 7:14-15, 18-20; Ps 85:2-4, 5-6, 7-8; Jn 20:1-2, 11-18

R. (8a) Lord, show us your mercy and love.

You have favored, O LORD, your land;
you have brought back the captives of Jacob.
You have forgiven the guilt of your people;
you have covered all their sins.
You have withdrawn all your wrath;
you have revoked your burning anger.

Restore us, O God our savior,
and abandon your displeasure against us.
Will you be ever angry with us,
prolonging your anger to all generations?

Will you not instead give us life;
and shall not your people rejoice in you?
Show us, O LORD, your kindness,
and grant us your salvation.

GOSPEL MEDITATION
- from http://www.dailyscripture.net/

The Lord gives us "eyes of faith" to see the truth of his
resurrection and victory over sin and death (Ephesians 1:18). The
resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our hope -- the hope
that we will see God face to face and share in his everlasting
glory and joy. Without having seen him you love him; though you do
not now see him you believe in him and rejoice with unutterable and
exalted joy. As the outcome of your faith you obtain the salvation
of your souls (1 Peter 1:8-9). Do you recognize the Lord's presence
with you, in his word, in the "breaking of the bread", and in his
church, the body of Christ?

"Lord Jesus, may I never fail to recognize your voice nor lose
sight of your presence in your saving word."
