Message of the Day

Be happy. Be content — always, everywhere, in all circumstances — because every circumstance is a gift of love for you from the Eternal Father. That’s why God wants us to rejoice in every one of our troubles, and to praise and give glory to His name — yes, in everything — because God loves you with a forever kind of love.
- Catherine of Siena, Letters

("God loves you with a forever kind of love." Spend some time letting this truth sink in.)
Daily Readings
Gn 17:3-9;    Ps. 105:4-5, 6-7, 8-9;    Jn 8:51-59

R. The Lord remembers his covenant for ever.

Look to the LORD in his strength;
seek to serve him constantly.
Recall the wondrous deeds that he has wrought,
his portents, and the judgments he has uttered.

You descendants of Abraham, his servants,
sons of Jacob, his chosen ones!
He, the LORD, is our God;
throughout the earth his judgments prevail.

He remembers forever his covenant
which he made binding for a thousand generations -
Which he entered into with Abraham
and by his oath to Isaac.

Reflection on the Scriptures

When the Jews asked Jesus who do you claim to be? he answered, “before Abraham was, I am.” Jesus claims to be timeless and there is only one in the universe who is timeless, namely God. Scripture tells us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus was not just a man who came, lived, died, and then rose again. He is the immortal timeless One, who always was and always will be. In Jesus we see the eternal God in visible flesh. His death and rising make it possible for us to share in his eternal life. Do you live in the hope and joy of the resurrection?

“Lord Jesus, let your word be on my lips and in my heart that I may walk in the freedom of your truth and love.”

Revelations of Divine Love
- by Julian of Norwich

Sixth Revelation, Chapter 14

“The age of every man shall be acknowledged before him in Heaven, and every man shall be rewarded for his willing service and for his time.”

AFTER this our good Lord said: I thank thee for thy travail, and especially for thy youth.

And in this [Shewing] mine understanding was lifted up into Heaven where I saw our Lord as a lord in his own house, which hath called all his dearworthy servants and friends to a stately feast. Then I saw the Lord take no place in His own house, but I saw Him royally reign in His house, fulfilling it with joy and mirth, Himself endlessly to gladden and to solace His dearworthy friends, full homely and full courteously, with marvellous melody of endless love, in His own fair blessed Countenance. Which glorious Countenance of the Godhead fulfilleth the Heavens with joy and bliss.
