Resurrection means a life that bursts through the dimensions of space and time in God's invisible, imperishable, incomprehensible domain. This is what is meant by 'heaven'--not the the  heaven of the astronauts, but God's heaven. It means going into reality, not going out.
- Hans Kung, Does God Exist? -

(How is resurrection happening in your life lately? Give thanks to God for this blessing.)

2 KGS 5:1-15;    PS 42:2, 3; 43:3, 4;    LK 4:24-30

R. When shall I go and behold the face of God?

As the hind longs for the running waters,
so my soul longs for you, O God.

Send forth your light and your fidelity;
they shall lead me on
And bring me to your holy mountain,
to your dwelling-place.

Then will I go in to the altar of God,
the God of my gladness and joy;
Then will I give you thanks upon the harp,
O God, my God!

No prophet is accepted in his own native place.

Most preachers know the truth of this statement. Many teachers. Many friends. Most spouses at some time in their marriage. All parents. It's painful. I asked a counselor friend what he felt when he couldn't get through to folks who came to see him. He said it was like watching someone setting a match to $100 bills, one after the other. Tragic waste. Perhaps we can take comfort in the knowledge that Jesus understands this pain firsthand. Those he loved the most couldn't hear him.

For those for whom we are most concerned -- protect them, O God.

The Adornment of the Spiritual Marriage, by St. John of Rusybroeck (1293-1381)

When the inward and God-seeing man has thus attained to his Eternal Image, and in this clearness, through the Son, has entered into the bosom of the Father: then he is enlightened by Divine truth, and he receives anew, every moment, the Eternal Birth, and he goes forth according to the way of the light, in a Divine contemplation. And here there begins the fourth and last point; namely, a loving meeting, in which, above all else, our highest blessedness consists.

- Third Book, Chapter 4: Of a divine meeting which takes place in the hiddenness of our spirit.
