MESSAGE OF THE DAY
God has never exploited any person. Not once has He extracted anything from any one for His own ends. There is not even a hint of grasping greed regarding the Good Shepherd who approaches us only with our best interests in mind. He does not use people for some selfish pleasure of his own.

(1b) Praise the Lord, my soul!
Praise the LORD, O my soul;
I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God while I live.
The LORD keeps faith forever,
secures justice for the oppressed,
gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets captives free.
The LORD gives sight to the blind.
The LORD raises up those who are bowed down;
the LORD loves the just.
The LORD protects strangers.
The fatherless and the widow he sustains,
but the way of the wicked he thwarts
The LORD shall reign forever,
your God, O Zion, through all generations! Alleluia.

- Mark 12:35-37 (David’s Lord)
This is a difficult passage. Confronted by the Jews with numerous preconceptions as to what the Messiah would be like, Jesus tries to open their minds to new possibilities. The messiah will be far more than a blood descendant of David, Jesus assures them. He will be one whom even David would worship.
• What
are some misconceptions you have about God that need to be changed?
Perhaps the way you complete the following sentences will help you
identify these notiofls.
a. God can’t love me; I’m too...
b. I can’t know God; God is too...
c. I can’t believe in Jesus; he’s too...
• Pray for the grace to be more open to God’s forgiveness and love for you

ABANDONMENT TO DIVINE PROVIDENCE
- by Jean Pierre de Caussade, S.J.
If the work of our sanctification presents, apparently, the most
insurmountable difficulties, it is because we do not know how to form a just
idea of it. In reality sanctity can be reduced to one single practice,
fidelity to the duties appointed by God. Now this fidelity is equally within
each one’s power whether in its active practice, or passive exercise.
