MESSAGE OF THE DAY
Every thing that a man leans upon but God, will be a dart that will
certainly pierce his heart through and through. He, who leans only
upon Christ, lives the highest, choicest, safest, and sweetest life.

SCRIPTURE READINGS
http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/
Acts 1:1-11; Ps 47:2-3, 6-7, 8-9; Eph 1:17-23; Mk 16:15-20
R. (6) God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets
for the Lord.
All you peoples, clap your hands,
shout to God with cries of gladness,
For the LORD, the Most High, the awesome,
is the great king over all the earth.
God mounts his throne amid shouts of joy;
the LORD, amid trumpet blasts.
Sing praise to God, sing praise;
sing praise to our king, sing praise.
For king of all the earth is God;
sing hymns of praise.
God reigns over the nations,
God sits upon his holy throne.

GOSPEL MEDITATION
from "Praying the Daily Gospels," by Philip St. Romain:
- http://www.liguori.org/productdetails.cfm?PC=6614
- Acts of the Apostles 1: 6 - 12 (Jesus ascends into heaven)
After spending days teaching and revealing himself in different
ways to his disciples, the risen Jesus is taken into full glory and
is seated at the right Hand of the Father. With his Ascension, he
did not go away: he disappeared. Henceforth, he is available to
all people in all time, but through the interior life and the realm
of spirit. All creation now unfolds "in Christ."
* Spend some time thinking about what it means to be "in Christ."
How do you experience this?
* Pray for the grace to be more aware of the risen, ascended Christ
in your life and in history.

NOTES FROM A CLASSICAL WORK
- "Imitation of Christ," by Thomas A. Kempis
The Voice of Christ
The testimony of humans is often deceiving, but My judgment is
true -- it
will stand and not be overthrown. It is hidden from many and made
known to but a few. Yet it is never mistaken and cannot be
mistaken
even though it does not seem right in the eyes of the unwise.
