A Civilization of Love, by Carl Anderson. Harper One, 2008.
Have you heard someone say that there is no hope for today’s wounded world? It is apparent that Anderson believes there is hope and he presents the topic of love as the antidote for the universal healing. This book calls Americans to a revolution of virtue, based on the love that God gives unconditionally.
The message is heavy duty and yet its message is utterly simple. Anderson bases this work on the idea that by personal example Christians can transform the world.

Lenten Prayer Guide
In contrast to many other Lenten prayer guides, this booklet is more than a series of rote meditations. Instead, you will find brief reflections to use as springboards for your own unique meditation on the gospels of the Lenten liturgy. To enhance your meditation, a brief commentary or background on the gospel passage is also provided.

Born of a noble family in northern Italy, Conrad as a young man married Euphrosyne, daughter of a nobleman.
One day while hunting he ordered attendants to set fire to some brush in order to flush out the game. The fire spread to nearby fields and to a large forest. Conrad fled. An innocent peasant was imprisoned, tortured to confess, and
condemned to death. Conrad confessed his guilt, saved the man’s life, and paid for the damaged property.
Soon after this event, Conrad and his wife agreed to separate: she to a Poor Clare monastery and he to a group of hermits following the Third Order Rule. His reputation for holiness, however, spread quickly. Since his many visitors
destroyed his solitude, Conrad went to a more remote spot in Sicily where he lived 36 years as a hermit, praying for himself and for the rest of the world.
Prayer and penance were his answer to the temptations that beset him. Conrad died kneeling before a crucifix. He was canonized in 1625.

This is the union of the two natures (Divine and human) in the person of Jesus. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 1:8). He is fully God and fully human(Col. 2:9); thus, He has two natures: divine and human. He is not half God and half man. Therefore, there is a "union in one person of a full human nature and a full divine
nature."
