“Sufficient for today are the problems thereof!” Mt. 6:34
It has been well said that no one ever sank under the burden of the day. It is when
tomorrow’s burden is added to the burden of today that the weight is more than a person can bear. Never load yourselves so, my friends. If you find yourselves so loaded, at least remember this: it is your own doing, not God’s. He begs you to leave the future to Him and mind the present.

1 COR 15:1-8; PS 19:2-3, 4-5
JN 14:6-14 Jesus said to Thomas, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him." Philip said to
him, "Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells in me is doing his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the
Father is in me, or else, believe because of the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it."
Reflection on the
Scriptures |
As I was reflecting with today’s readings, I was reminded of the Ignatian value of “Finding God in all things.” It started with Psalm 19 “The heavens declare the glory of God”. Yes, the heavens, the earth, the animals, the trees, the flowers, the seas and sea creatures. All of creation declare the glory of God. All creation reminds
us, shows us a bit about who, what and how God is. The beauty, the grandeur, God’s love for us. The heavens do declare the glory of God. Then I went to our Gospel reading from John. Jesus’ declaration that the Father is in him and he is in the Father is a reminder to me that we all carry God within us. I think sometimes God is hidden beneath
our wounds and our defenses but God is incarnate within us and animates us through our souls. God is in all of us. Even those that challenge our patience or make us angry or do heinous things. God loves us all and is present within us. We get to choose, however, to recognize this and enter into relationship or not.

Fourteenth Revelation, Chapter 51
“He is the Head, and we be His
members.” “Therefore our Father nor may nor will more blame assign to us than to His own Son, precious and worthy Christ” I marvelled how this Servant might meekly suffer there all this woe, and I beheld with carefulness to learn if I could perceive in him any fault, or if the Lord should assign to him
any blame. And in sooth there was none seen: for only his goodwill and his great desire was cause of his falling; and he was unlothful, and as good inwardly as when he stood afore his Lord, ready to do his will. And right thus continually his loving Lord full tenderly beholdeth him. But now with a double manner of Regard: one outward, full meekly and mildly, with great ruth and pity,—and this was of the first [sight], another inward, more spiritually,—and this was shewed with a leading of mine
understanding into the Lord, [in the] which I saw Him highly rejoicing for the worshipful restoring that He will and shall bring His Servant to by His plenteous grace; and this was of that other shewing.
